Rowing Single Scull (TS515)
The rowing single scull is perfect for novices and recreational rowers due to its great performance, durability and design. The scull is extremely stable, safe and light and can be lifted by one person onto car roof racks to be easily transported to any location. It is the ideal boat for beginners learning to row through to competitive rowers wanting a recreational scull they can take anywhere.
An example of its innovative design is the long keel incorporated into the scull construction making it ideal for beach landings and turning quickly around bouys. The long keel is in contrast to the traditional skeg (fin) which can be easily broken and cause injuries. The keel gives great directional tracking making it unnecessary to have a skeg.
Our training scull (TS515) is the most affordable scull available.
single scull Specifications
At 5.15 metres long, each rowing single scull weighs approximately 20 kilograms unrigged.
single scull STABILISERS
The stabilisers are purpose built for the wing rigger and are hydrodynamically designed to ensure they do not impede the speed of the scull. They make it virtually impossible to tip the rowing single scull and hence are of great assistance to novices and recreational rowers. They can be easily unbolted from the rigger if required. The design of the stabilisers has been registered.
single scull Seat and Carry Handles
The seat is constructed in fully moulded polyethylene and uses double action wheels on anodised aluminium rails for durability. Aluminium carry handles are incorporated in the well with plastic bow and stern deck handles. A non-slip tread plate is incorporated in the seat well.
single scull Rigger
The rowing single scull is fitted with a unique wing rigger which utilises standard scull oars. The rigger is easily detachable for transport and storage using the patented quick-release cam system. This means the rowing single scull can be rigged and de-rigged in seconds.
single scull Construction Material
The rowing single scull is constructed in polyethylene foam sandwiched between two layers of solid polyethylene making it not only virtually indestructible and unsinkable, but also stiff and light.
The polyethylene foam is closed cell, making it completely waterproof and perfect for boat construction.
single scull Stacking system
Our unique polyethylene stacking cradles are provided with each rowing single scull. The cradles allow up to 10 rowing single sculls to be stacked vertically on each other without any outside support.
single scull Settings
All settings and measurements (spread, height above water and feet position) are identical to those on a standard racing scull. This makes the training scull perfect for progression to conventional sculls.
